Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]
  1. This template is missing RADAR, a subsystem used by Cassini, several Venus missions and several other related missions. It would need to be added at the top for alphabetical reasons.
  2. Even though the mariner 4 and 5 used a helium magnetometer, it was a triaxial and not a helium vapor.
  3. Cassine-Huygins Magnetometer is both a triaxial (vector) and Helium (general field).
  4. IRIS (Infrared Interferometer Spectrometer and Radiometer) is both a radiometer and IR spectrometer.
  5. SPICAM, SPICAV and MASCS (MESSENGER Atmosphere and Spectometer Surface Composition) are both and Visible-IR and UV-visible spectometer. SPICAV has a special Infrared version of Radio Science (Radio Accultation) spectrometer that is designed to detect the interference of Venus's atmosphere as that satellite passes behind venus relative to the sun.
  6. ASPERA (Analyzer of Space Plasmas and Energetic Atoms) -3 and 4 are a Neutral Particle Imager (NPI), Neutral Particle Detector (NPD), Electron Spectrometer (ELS), Ion Mass Analyzer (IMA)
  7. SPS (Solar Plasma Spectrometer) is both a neutral particle and ion detector.

How to manage this template's initial visibility
To manage this template's visibility when it first appears, add the parameter:

|state=collapsed to show the template in its collapsed state, i.e. hidden apart from its titlebar – e.g. {{Satellite and spacecraft instruments |state=collapsed}}
|state=expanded to show the template in its expanded state, i.e. fully visible – e.g. {{Satellite and spacecraft instruments |state=expanded}}
|state=autocollapse to show the template in its collapsed state but only if there is another template of the same type on the page – e.g. {{Satellite and spacecraft instruments |state=autocollapse}}

Unless set otherwise (see the |state= parameter in the template's code), the template's default state is autocollapse.
