{{Infobox Indic letter}} is used as an overview of a letter in various Indic scripts in articles on pan-Indic letters.

Parameters

{{Infobox Indic letter}} has several native parameters inherited from {{Indic glyph}}, and passes on a large number of parameters to {{Indic glyph}} as an embedded template. The list of native parameters in {{Infobox Indic letter}} are:

  • title - Table title. Defaults to letname if undefined
  • letname - Image alt text (eg "Ka"), and default table title
  • ipa - IPA symbol of core phonetic value.
  • ipanote - first IPA note. Optional
  • ipa2 - alternate IPA. Optional
  • ipa2note - note about alternate IPA, or additional note on first IPA. Optional
  • ipa3 - tertiary IPA. Optional
  • ipa3note - note about tertiary IPA, additional note on alternate IPA, or third note on first IPA. Optional
  • ipa4 - fourth IPA. Optional
  • ipa4note - note about fourth IPA, additional note on tertiary IPA, or third note on alternate IPA, etc. Optional
  • ipa5 - fifth IPA. Optional
  • ipa5note - note about fifth IPA, additional note on fourth IPA, or third note on tertiary IPA, etc. Optional
  • ipa6 - sixth IPA. Optional
  • ipa6note - note about sixth IPA, additional note on fifth IPA, or third note on fourth IPA, etc. Optional
  • iast - IAST transliteration. Displays both lower case and title case.
  • iscii - ISCII hex code point (displays both decimal and hex values).
  • hbchar - cognate letters from the Hebrew script
  • grchar - cognate letters from the Greek script
  • lachar - cognate letters from the Latin script
  • cychar - cognate letters from the Cyrillic script
  • num - numeric value in Āryabhaṭa numeration
  • note - Other notes. Optional

{{Infobox Indic letter}} has several glyphs shown as example characters in some of the most widely-used and diverse scripts of the Indic family. In addition, up to five user-defined example glyphs can be specified. Parameters for specifying these scripts and characters are:

  • Default scripts without an image or code point defined will be removed from the example character list unless a showxxxx parameter is used. User-defined scripts will be included only if the scriptn parameter is set. In both cases, an undefined character appears as a hyphen "-".
